Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Shop Floor Engineer (On Line UPS) role based in Ambala Cantonment. The role involves overseeing assembly, wiring, and testing of On Line UPS units, ensuring that products meet technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Shop Floor Engineer supports production planning, coordinates with procurement and quality teams, and monitors workflow to minimize downtime and defects. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment and UPS systems, documenting test results, maintaining shop floor records, and suggesting process improvements. The role also requires guiding technicians, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and relevant electrical standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in electrical or electronics engineering, with practical experience in power systems or UPS technology.
Hands-on experience with assembly, wiring, and functional testing of electrical equipment, preferably On Line UPS units.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with quality control practices, use of test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.), and safety standards for shop floor operations.
Effective problem-solving skills and experience in diagnosing and resolving faults in power electronic systems.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with technicians, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
Organizational skills for maintaining documentation, production logs, and compliance records.
Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, especially in UPS or power equipment, is preferred.
