About the role
As Legal Counsel for Charlotte Tilbury Beauty you will report directly to a Senior Legal Counsel. You will advise the international business on day-to-day legal matters, delivering to the business the very highest standards of legal advice and regulatory compliance whilst supporting the business with its international growth.
Your remit covers legal support to the global (excluding China) direct and indirect procurement teams and the commercial retail teams for UK, Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Australia (“EMEA”), APAC and Travel Retail, along with new market expansion.
You will support the business on negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts including new retail/franchise/distribution agreements, store design and leases and commercial contracts relating to supply chain, professional services, logistics, facilities, visual merchandise, IT and digital and other third party engagements.
You will also support the legal team to develop and enhance effective working processes with the business to ensure that the business’ objectives are achieved within appropriate timescales and with the relevant stakeholder approval.
As required, you will assist other areas of the business and legal team on a broad range of legal matters.
As Legal Counsel you will
Assisting with legal affairs relating to procurement, retail and new market expansion matters, with supervision from a Senior Legal Counsel
Supporting the business with day-to-day legal queries, identifying legal risks and providing commercially sound advice
Assisting with the development and implementation of legal procedures and policies to ensure the business’ compliance with applicable laws
Drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts, legal documents and other regulatory or contractual requirements
Supporting the business with legal proceedings, working with outside counsel when required
Preparing and conducting legal training for staff

Qualified legal professional
Researches effectively to develop understanding of the law or specialist area

Exercises judgment on when to seek advice or escalate
Demonstrates structured analysis and interpretation of legal and non-legal information
Recognises, understands and communicates project risks
Knows how activities, processes and systems relevant to the role fit together and interact
Understands the foundations of the beauty/retail market and seeks to learn more
Demonstrates understanding and awareness of other cultures, jurisdictions and business approaches
Shares ideas and identifies and acts on opportunities to contributes to the team’s knowledge bank (templates / play books) for their specialist area

Professional Experience
Qualified Solicitor – England and Wales (1-2 years’ PQE)
Solid training and qualifications from a leading national or international law firm or reputable business
Experience of working for a global brand and advising on multi-jurisdictional issues is highly desirable
Working Environment
Office based: Central London (hybrid working, office based for 3 days per week)
