Role Purpose
Lead the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function at Rosebel Gold Mines, ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable legislation, international standards and industry best practices. Drive the development and implementation of HSE strategies, systems and programs to manage risks, strengthen safety culture and support sustainable mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the HSE function, including Environment, Health and Safety teams.
Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE management systems in line with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and relevant international standards.
Drive safety culture, behavior-based safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives across the mine.
Provide HSE leadership and advice to senior management, managers, supervisors and employees.
Oversee environmental programs, including environmental impact assessments, water, waste and tailings management.
Monitor HSE performance, KPIs, risks and regulatory compliance, and provide regular reports to senior management.
Lead HSE risk assessments and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Manage HSE budgets, resources, team development and succession planning.
Maintain effective relationships with government authorities, local communities and other key stakeholders.
Ensure all projects and operations comply with applicable HSE legislation, company standards and industry best practices.
