Associate Vice President of Educational Programs

The Associate Vice President of Educational Programs plays a key role on the Educational Programs & Training team at WSCUC, with primary responsibility for programming that engages member institutions, peer reviewers, and the public. The role supports the development and implementation of workshops and webinars, the Accreditation Leadership Academy, and programming for the annual Accreditation Resource Conference (ARC), in consultation with the VP/CLO and other team members. This position also serves as a core member of the ARC Steering Committee. Additional responsibilities include the training of agency volunteers, Commissioners, and staff, as well as contributing to broader thought leadership initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Workshops and Webinars
• Partner with the VP/CLO to shape the strategic direction of WSCUC's educational programming and lead the development and delivery of workshops and events
• As needed, attend VP meetings and Commission meetings to represent educational programming and training
• As needed, participate in and present at other agency meetings and external meetings or conferences
Core Programs
• In collaboration with the VP/CLO and external mentors and facilitators, own the planning, logistics, and curriculum development for core programs, such as the Accreditation Leadership Academy (ALA), including the ALA Learning Management System
• Oversee the review of participant applications, assignments, and projects, and supervise mentors and volunteer experts
• Lead outreach and engagement with ALA participants and alumni
• Coordinate with the Director of Educational Events and Resource Specialist on program logistics
ARC Annual Meeting
• Serve as a core member of the ARC Steering Committee and planning team.
• Develop, facilitate, and host or co-host ARC sessions as needed.
• Support on-site logistics during the ARC.
Training
• Lead the development and maintenance of training materials and modules for agency volunteers and other key roles, in partnership with the VP/CLO, ensuring content stays accurate, engaging, and current
• Oversee monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement of mandatory training in response to evolving agency needs
Qualifications
• Experience crafting educational programming designed to meet the unique needs of specific groups of stakeholders
• Higher education experience that includes an understanding of accreditation and substantive experience in a relevant area such as assessment, institutional administration or leadership, or teaching and learning. Working knowledge of principles and practices related to student learning, assessment, institutional effectiveness, and organizational change
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including experience designing and leading online and in-person workshops and/or hosting webinars or online meetings
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent project management skills
• High degree of accuracy and careful attention to detail
• Ability to work individually and in teams, including in a hybrid or remote working environment
• Strong analytical skills are an asset
• Ability to build productive business/working relationships
Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in higher education; Doctoral degree or deep experience in higher education or accreditation is an asset.
• Experience with online programs, professional development and training, planning, and project management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Zoom webinar/meeting tools
Additional Experience (Optional)
• Experience with WSCUC, such as having served as a WSCUC peer reviewer, ALA alumnus, WSCUC fellow/workshop presenter, or ARC presenter is an asset.
• Demonstrated experience with learning applications and content creation software including Learning Management Systems, AI tools, and video and audio editing software
Please note this role includes mandatory in-person activities at various locations, not limited to workshops, Accreditation Leadership Academy, ARC Annual Meeting, Commission meetings, and WSCUC staff or team gatherings.
Compensation
The annual salary for this role is $150,000, with an additional benefits package.
