Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based at Salsan Steels Pvt Ltd in Jalandhar. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial accounting activities, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and preparing vouchers. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and vendor accounts, and supporting monthly and annual closing. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation rules, and company policies, as well as assisting with GST, TDS, and other statutory filings. The Accountant will collaborate with internal departments, provide financial data for management reporting, support audits, and contribute to cost and inventory accounting related to steel production.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entry posting, and preparation of financial statements.
Candidates should possess proficiency in taxation and compliance, including GST, TDS, statutory returns, and familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements.
Candidates should possess financial analysis and reporting skills, such as variance analysis, budgeting support, and preparation of periodic management reports.
Candidates should possess cost and inventory accounting skills, including tracking production costs, monitoring stock movements, and reconciling inventory records.
Candidates should possess practical experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally or similar ERP systems), along with strong MS Excel skills.
Candidates should possess attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational and time management abilities.
Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, operations, and management teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA/CPA/Cost Accounting) are an advantage.
Prior experience in manufacturing or steel industry accounting is preferred but not mandatory.
