Accountant

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Accountant at Reerac. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations, including recording transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. The role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and account balances, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. The Accountant will support compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, assist in audits, and contribute to the improvement of internal controls and financial processes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, reports, and recommendations will also be a core part of this role.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
Proficiency in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and support for internal and external audits.
Ability to use accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., ERP systems, Excel) with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with non-finance stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
Experience working in tech-enabled or platform-based businesses, preferably in African or emerging markets, is a plus.
