Corporate Development (M&A) Manager, Full-time, Remote Northeast U.S.
About the Company
This is a young, high-growth precision manufacturing platform serving aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, power generation, and space end markets. Backed by long-term, patient capital from multiple family offices, the platform acquires founder-owned machining businesses and partners with them to grow, with no fixed exit timeline. Additional capital is available to support continued acquisition activity as the platform executes. The culture is entrepreneurial and fast-moving, built around a high-velocity M&A model that favors judgment and speed over the more risk-averse cadence of traditional private equity. The platform is targeting a significant step-up in acquisition volume over the next two years.
Corporate Development (M&A) Manager Opportunity:
The Corporate Development (M&A) Manager will sit at the center of the platform's growth strategy, sourcing and executing M&A. This person will support the deal process from initial sourcing through close and provide FP&A support to the platform's existing operating company. This is a high-impact, high-visibility seat at a platform actively doing deals, with a direct reporting line and close apprenticeship with a co-founder, a clear growth path as the team scales, and equity participation with room to grow as the platform builds toward its next phase.
Responsibilities include:
Build and maintain a target pipeline of precision manufacturing businesses in the $1 to $5+ million EBITDA range across aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, power generation, and space end markets
Cultivate relationships with bankers, brokers, and business owners directly, cold calling and traveling extensively to walk shop floors; concentration in the Northeast, with a national scope
Lead due diligence independently and manage third-party diligence provider relationships, evaluating unstructured, often messy data sources with limited guidance
Own the deal process from initial outreach through LOI and close, managing timelines and workstreams alongside a co-founder
Present acquisition opportunities and deal status updates to leadership and the board
Provide FP&A support to the platform's existing operating company, partnering with the COO and controller
Help build the infrastructure and processes needed to support the platform's growth trajectory as deal volume accelerates
As the platform scales, build and lead a team across business development, in-house M&A execution, and legal
Professional Experience & Qualifications:
4-6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
Experience in high-velocity M&A and founder-owned, undercapitalized environments; prior experience with manufacturing is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead diligence and analysis independently, with minimal oversight
A confident yet humble presence, with the ability to build trust and credibility directly with business owners
Willingness to travel extensively and operate outside a traditional office environment
Bachelor's degree required.
Compensation
$200-250k all-in, plus equity
