Full-Stack Product Engineer

Company Description Jamao is a product of Sociotech IT Services and serves as a central hub where India’s tech communities connect through events, meetups, and hackathons across 10 major cities. The platform provides organizers with tailored tools such as free event pages, RSVPs, WhatsApp reminders, QR check-ins, and UPI payouts directly to Indian bank accounts. Jamao focuses on solving challenges unique to Indian organizers, including UPI support, GST invoicing, and low attendance at free meetups, starting with Bengaluru. The service is free for free events, with a transparent 3% fee on paid tickets, and offers dedicated resources for organizers and attendees through jamao.in.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Full-Stack Product Engineer. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end product features across both front-end and back-end systems that power Jamao’s event platform. Day-to-day tasks include building responsive user interfaces, implementing robust APIs, integrating payment flows with UPI and other services, and ensuring reliability, performance, and security of the application. The Full-Stack Product Engineer will collaborate closely with product, design, and operations teams to understand organizer and attendee needs, translate them into technical solutions, and iterate quickly based on user feedback and data. The role also involves writing clean, maintainable code, performing code reviews, and contributing to architecture decisions as Jamao scales to more cities and event formats.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Full-Stack Development and Software Development, with experience building and shipping production web applications.
Proficiency in Front-End Development, including modern JavaScript frameworks and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for responsive, accessible user interfaces.
Experience in Back-End Web Development, including designing APIs, working with databases, and integrating third-party services such as payment gateways.
Ability to translate product requirements into technical solutions, with a focus on usability, reliability, and performance.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, including participating in code reviews, documentation, and iterative product improvements.
Working knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) and common development workflows, testing practices, and deployment pipelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; experience in building consumer-facing or community products in India is an advantage.
