About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Investment Engineering team. The team builds and enhances technology platforms that support investment operations, including order management, compliance, portfolio analytics, data infrastructure, and low-latency services.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role requiring strong expertise in Java backend development, Vue.js, distributed systems, and high-performance application design. Experience with Generative AI technologies is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deliver full-stack applications using Java and React or Angular or Vue.js.
Build scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using modern Java frameworks.
Develop modern, responsive front-end applications using React or Angular or Vue.js.
Design and optimize low-latency, high-throughput services using Aeron-based messaging frameworks.
Take end-to-end ownership of features from design through development, deployment, and production support.
Build and maintain integrations across APIs, messaging systems, databases, and enterprise platforms.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize system performance.
Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver robust technical solutions.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
Contribute to platform modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Exposure to AI/LLM technologies is a plus and may be leveraged for future platform enhancements.
Required Skills & Experience
8–14 years of software engineering experience, preferably in financial services, investment management, capital markets, or other enterprise environments.
Strong hands-on expertise in Java and enterprise backend development.
Experience building REST APIs, distributed systems, and full-stack applications.
Strong experience with React or Angular or Vue.js.
Experience with Aeron or similar low-latency messaging frameworks.
Strong understanding of concurrency, multithreading, asynchronous processing, messaging, and performance optimization.
Experience integrating applications across APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and enterprise systems.
Proven ability to independently drive projects from design through delivery.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Nice to Have
Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or related technologies.
Exposure to Vue.js
Python experience, particularly for automation or AI integrations.
Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, vector databases, or similar frameworks.
Exposure to financial markets, investment management, trading, or capital markets.
Experience building high-performance or real-time systems.
Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
Experience with Snowflake or other data warehouse technologies.
Experience working in large enterprise or multi-vendor environments.
