Description: ACT1 Federal is seeking an experienced Digital Manufacturing and Production Systems SME will evaluate and support Government-authorized MES, ERP, advanced planning and scheduling, PLM, QMS, supplier platforms, digital thread/twin, and production-control solutions.
Responsibilities:
Digital Manufacturing and Production Systems
Assess digital manufacturing environments, production systems, factory data flows, and enabling technologies to identify constraints affecting throughput, quality, schedule, capacity, and production visibility.
Evaluate manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP), product lifecycle management (PLM), digital work instructions, machine connectivity, automation, and related production technologies.
Identify opportunities to improve production performance through digital thread integration, real-time production data, advanced analytics, automation, model-based methods, and modern factory controls.
Assess system interoperability, data quality, architecture, cybersecurity, implementation dependencies, workforce readiness, and technology risks affecting modernization or production recovery.
Production Modernization and Technical Analysis
Support development and assessment of digital manufacturing modernization plans, technology roadmaps, implementation schedules, requirements, performance measures, and investment alternatives.
Evaluate proposed manufacturing-technology investments for expected effects on capacity, cycle time, throughput, quality, yield, labor efficiency, schedule, resilience, and production risk.
Identify gaps in production-system integration, machine and process data, configuration control, digital engineering interfaces, technical data, and shop-floor visibility.
Develop practical modernization alternatives that account for legacy systems, production continuity, implementation lead time, supplier capability, workforce adoption, and return on investment.
Support technical engagements, site assessments, data reviews, and working sessions with program offices, production facilities, prime contractors, suppliers, and authorized stakeholders.
TASC Team Integration and Decision Support
Serve as the senior digital manufacturing and production-systems advisor to the TASC team for assigned PAE and weapon-system priorities.
Integrate manufacturing-system findings with production, schedule, supplier, engineering, quality, investment, and program data to develop executable courses of action.
Coordinate modernization issues across DASN DIB, PAEs, program offices, systems commands, engineering, cybersecurity, contracting, financial management, production facilities, and industry stakeholders.
Prepare factory-system assessments, modernization alternatives, technology roadmaps, issue papers, decision briefings, action plans, and recommendations for senior Government leadership.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, information systems, operations management, or a related discipline.
10+ years’ experience in manufacturing, production systems, industrial engineering, digital manufacturing, factory modernization, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience evaluating manufacturing processes, production systems, industrial data, automation, and digital technologies within complex production environments.
Experience with one or more major manufacturing platforms or technologies such as MES, ERP, PLM, digital thread, industrial automation, machine connectivity, digital work instructions, or advanced manufacturing analytics.
Ability to assess production-system constraints and develop practical, executable modernization alternatives tied to measurable production outcomes.
Experience preparing technical assessments, modernization roadmaps, investment recommendations, and executive decision materials for Government or industry leadership.
Active Top Secret Clearance required.
