Senior KYC Analyst

TexterID is hiring a senior KYC analyst to join our small, remote team. This is a contract position, with part-time or full-time options depending on the candidate.
TexterID is a San Francisco-based startup in the telecommunications and identity verification space. We help mobile network operators and other companies in the telecommunications industry reduce fraud and abuse using robust, AI-powered business verification.
About you:
Extremely proficient with AI tools and managing agentic workflows
Analytical and data-oriented
Paranoid and research-minded, but work quickly
Proficient with probability and statistics (you should know what a confusion matrix is)
Have several years working on the ground in KYC/AML, assessing businesses for risk and making decisions on a daily basis
Have experience investigating European corporate structures, trademark databases, and regulations (GDPR, AI Act)
Speak English, and one of French or German (ideally both)
Are comfortable balancing customer service with the skepticism and independence needed for KYC vetting
Are comfortable making decisions against uncertainty
Are hungry for an opportunity and are excited about working for a fast-paced, Silicon Valley startup
In this job, you will:
Conduct deep research and diligence of businesses for risk flags
Assist our global product team and HU-based engineering team to generate training data sets for AI performance testing
Analyze legal documents such as regulations to guide decision-making
Vet individuals for their authority to represent businesses, using standard industry challenge techniques
