About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Azure Solutions Architect with a solid understanding of AWS services to join our dynamic team on a long-term contract basis in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure and demonstrate the ability to support or integrate AWS-based systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud architectures that are scalable, secure, and resilient, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency across hybrid cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, providing leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams. Staying current with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices is essential to continuously enhance our cloud strategies and offerings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, coupled with at least five years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design. Expertise in Microsoft Azure is essential, including familiarity with services such as Azure Active Directory, App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Networking. Working knowledge of AWS services like EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC is required to support hybrid cloud environments effectively. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) are highly preferred. A strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management within cloud environments is critical. Additionally, experience with DevOps tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, will ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures on Azure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Integrate and support hybrid cloud environments involving both Azure and AWS, facilitating seamless interoperability and data flow.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory standards to safeguard organizational assets and data.
Automate infrastructure deployment and management using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep to improve efficiency and repeatability.
Monitor cloud performance metrics, optimize resource utilization, and manage costs to maximize return on investment.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development and operations teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our cloud capabilities.
