Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled QE Architect / Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership and drive quality engineering excellence across enterprise applications. This role is responsible for defining and evolving the Quality Engineering framework, guiding automation strategy, making architecture decisions, and advancing automation maturity across the organization.
This is not a governance or reporting-focused role. We are looking for a technical leader who can design, build, and scale automation solutions while influencing development and quality practices across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and own the enterprise Quality Engineering framework across UI, API, data, and service layers.
Define and implement automation strategy, coverage models, and target test pyramids.
Establish automation baselines, including coverage metrics, execution times, pass rates, and flakiness measurements.
Architect highly efficient automation solutions that support rapid validation cycles, selective execution, CI/CD integration, and fast feedback to development teams.
Develop and maintain quality metrics, reporting, and measurement frameworks that demonstrate business value.
Establish and enforce standards for automation code quality, reusability, naming conventions, reviews, and framework ownership.
Serve as the technical authority and escalation point for automation architecture and design decisions.
Partner closely with development teams to drive shift-left testing practices and increase developer-owned quality initiatives.
Evaluate and recommend tooling improvements based on measurable outcomes and established baselines.
Lead automation transformation initiatives across multiple teams and applications.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Test Automation.
3+ years of experience designing, building, and owning automation frameworks from the ground up.
Strong hands-on expertise with one or more modern automation technologies:
Playwright
Selenium
MABL
Java
Python
Deep experience with API and service-layer automation, including integration and contract testing.
Strong CI/CD experience, including pipeline integration, execution gating, parallelization, artifact management, and reporting.
Proven experience identifying and reducing automation flakiness through root cause analysis and framework improvements.
Experience managing test data strategies for enterprise-scale regression testing.
Demonstrated ability to scale automation across multiple teams while improving efficiency and maintaining quality.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within Financial Services, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
Service virtualization and dependency mocking experience.
Cloud-based testing environments and modern test infrastructure experience.
Accessibility testing knowledge.
Experience conducting quality maturity assessments and implementing resulting improvement plans.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Quality Engineering leader with a passion for automation architecture, engineering excellence, and large-scale quality transformation. You should be comfortable balancing strategic direction with deep technical involvement and helping organizations modernize their quality engineering practices.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $100,000 - $125,000/ yearly.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.
It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
