Role Description The Virtual CFO will serve as a strategic financial partner to multiple client companies, providing high-level oversight of financial performance in a remote capacity. This contract role includes leading budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring cash flow, and preparing management reports and dashboards. The Virtual CFO will analyze financial statements, identify trends and risks, and recommend actions to improve profitability and sustainability. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising on capital allocation, supporting financing and investment decisions, and ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with relevant regulations. The role also involves collaborating with client leadership teams, coordinating with accounting staff and external advisors, and presenting clear, concise financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficiency in cash flow management, cost control, and profitability analysis.
Experience with financial reporting, KPI development, and management dashboards.
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance frameworks.
Ability to interpret complex financial data and present clear strategic recommendations.
Comfort with cloud-based accounting and reporting tools; advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills.
Effective communication, stakeholder management, and client advisory skills.
Experience working remotely with multiple clients or business units and managing competing priorities.
Background as a CFO, Controller, Senior Finance Manager, or similar leadership role.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) is an advantage.
