Role Description The Metallurgical Engineer will work on-site in Mumbai in a full-time capacity, performing metallurgical and materials-related investigations in a laboratory environment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting metallurgical examinations, preparing and testing samples, and performing failure analysis and corrosion assessments on metal components. The role involves reviewing test results, interpreting data, and preparing clear technical reports and documentation for clients and internal teams. The Metallurgical Engineer will collaborate with technicians and other engineers, ensure adherence to relevant standards and safety procedures, and support continuous improvement of test methods and workflows. The position also requires regular interaction with customers to understand testing requirements and provide technical guidance on materials selection and performance.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Materials Science and Metallurgy, with the ability to apply principles to metals, alloys, and industrial applications.
Hands-on experience in Corrosion assessment and Failure Analysis, including root cause investigation and report preparation.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting test data, using laboratory instruments, and drawing valid technical conclusions.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Familiarity with standard laboratory practices, quality systems, and relevant industry codes or testing standards.
Ability to work safely in an on-site lab environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interactions.
Prior experience in a testing laboratory, manufacturing, or metal-processing industry is an advantage.
