The role
This is not a ticket-to-pixel job. You'll own the screens recruiters and candidates actually live in — dashboards, candidate reports, interview and assessment flows, call campaign views — and ship them every week. You'll work directly with the CTO and a senior backend team, use AI coding tools as a default, and be judged on what reaches production, not on hours logged.
What you'll do
Build and ship product UI in Next.js / React every sprint: recruiter dashboards, candidate report views, BrewVoice campaign screens, AI Interview and Assessment flows, HireFlow pipeline views.
Own front-end quality end to end: responsive layouts, loading and error states, accessibility basics, and performance on real recruiter hardware and networks.
Integrate with Django REST APIs, handle auth, pagination, file uploads and real-time updates without waiting for the backend to hand-hold.
Turn Figma designs and PRDs into working screens, and flag when a design won't survive real data (100 candidates in a table, 3,000 calls in a campaign).
Use AI coding tools as a default — Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or equivalent — to scaffold, refactor, write tests and review your own PRs before a human does.
Write clean, typed, reusable components; maintain the shared component library and design tokens so new screens are assembled, not rebuilt.
Ship small, ship often: PRs reviewed and merged within the day, features behind flags, release notes written for each drop.
Test what you ship: unit tests on logic, Playwright or Cypress on critical flows (invite → interview → report).
Work the Jira board properly: estimate, update, close. No silent tickets.
Sit in on client feedback and pilot reviews; fix what recruiters trip on the same week they trip on it.
What we're looking for
0–2 years building production web apps in React / Next.js with TypeScript. SaaS or B2B product experience is a plus, not a requirement.
Solid fundamentals: state management, data fetching and caching, component architecture, CSS you don't fight with (Tailwind or equivalent).
Daily user of AI coding tools — not "tried it once," actually shipping faster with them and knowing when they're wrong.
Comfortable reading API docs and backend code; you can trace a bug to the endpoint instead of filing a ticket and waiting.
Care about the user. You notice a 2-second spinner, a broken table on mobile, an unreadable report, and fix it without being asked.
Sharp communication in PRs, standups, and Jira. You write down what you did and why.
Bias for action. A scoped version this week beats a perfect one next month.
Founder-mindset: you treat the company's outcomes as your own, want upside tied to them, and are looking for a seat at the table in an early-stage company, not a role at a big one.
Bachelor's in Engineering, CS, or equivalent practical experience. A public GitHub or shipped side project counts for more than the degree.
