Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Accountant role based in Chennai. The Accountant will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and cash accounts. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking accounts payable and accounts receivable, managing expense reports, and supporting payroll processing. The role will assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports, budgeting support, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. The Accountant will collaborate with founders and operations teams to provide accurate financial insights that support business decisions and growth.
Qualifications
Strong skills in bookkeeping, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting support, and basic financial analysis.
Experience with accounting software (such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
Knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, and other local tax and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai, manage part-time hours reliably, and collaborate effectively with a small team.
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA) are an advantage.
Prior experience in retail, FMCG, or luxury goods environments is beneficial but not required.
