The Role
We’re looking for a self-motivated, strategic Finance Manager based in the Philippines to join us full-time. You’ll be at the heart of our accounting team supporting the delivery of clear, powerful financial insights to charity CEOs and trustees. You’ll perform technical accounting, own month end close procedures, optimise chart of account structures, drive efficiencies through embedding automation opportunities and help shape financial stories that drive decisions.
You'll work with a portfolio of wonderful clients helping them turn their financial data into insights that empower budget holders, CEOs and board members. The right person for this role is passionate about accounting, loves turning financial uncertainty into crystal clear clarity, and going above and beyond to turn budgets and forecasts into actionable plans for success.
What You’ll Be Doing
Own a portfolio of UK charity clients and take immense pride in building strong remote working relationships with CEOs and budget holders.
Use your expertise to challenge the numbers and apply professional scepticism to support mitigation of various risks facing your clients.
Review Board minutes and speak to your clients to identify relevant key performance indicators and then optimise their chart of accounts to track them.
Confidently perform bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate journal postings and timely record keeping for audit purposes.
Review Xero and QuickBooks files to optimise chart of accounts structures, embed automated third party data and bank feeds, and set up transaction categorisation rules.
Execute month-end close procedures, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
Perform analytical review procedures to identify financial trends and openly challenge them where you discover concerns.
Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring all underlying financial data is accurately presented.
Work closely with other team members to continuously improve processes and identify efficiencies.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
Loves thinking strategically and can confidently prepare management accounts with cash flow, budget variances, KPIs and forecasts.
Is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CPA / ACCA / CIMA / ACA).
An undergrad degree in accounting, finance or related field.
Has strong demonstrable experience working with Xero and QuickBooks - with certifications.
Has at least 2-3 years of post qualified experience, ideally with exposure to FRS 102 or UK charity SORP accounting standards.
Has a strong work ethic and is a real team player.
Speaks fluent English, communicates clearly and can explain more complex accounting concepts effortlessly.
Is self-motivated and comfortable working remotely while managing multiple clients.
Takes ownership, loves detail, is solutions focused and gets things done.
