About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Company Description Kingmakers Ventures is a creative equity venture based in Southeast Asia, partnering with high-potential F&B, hospitality, and lifestyle brands to drive long-term, sustainable growth. The company combines brand-building expertise with strategic capital, co-building as a creative engine rather than operating as a traditional private equity firm. Projects span distinctive concepts such as Bae's Cocktail Club, Gwanghwamun Mijin (Singapore), Milli Sky Dining & Bar + Milli Lounge, and Foura. A multidisciplinary team of creative and marketing specialists delivers execution-ready support across design, storytelling, and performance marketing.
Role Description
The Art Director will work closely with the Creative Director and brand team to develop, execute and maintain a high standard of creative and visual work across the Company’s portfolio of brands, campaigns and branding projects.
This is a hands-on Art Director role. You will be expected to personally conceptualise and execute design work alongside providing art direction and visual guidance. Strong Senior Designers ready to step into an Art Director role are also encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities include:
Work closely with the Creative Director to translate creative direction, strategies and concepts into strong and effective visual execution.
Lead and execute day-to-day design requirements across assigned brands and projects, ensuring work is delivered to a consistently high creative standard.
Conceptualise and develop key visuals, campaigns, social media assets, marketing collateral, digital assets, menus, presentations and other brand communications.
Maintain and uphold the visual identity, consistency and design standards of assigned brands across different platforms and consumer touchpoints.
Play an active role in new branding and rebranding projects, including research, moodboards, creative territories, visual identities, logos, typography, colour systems, brand guidelines and rollout applications.
Provide art direction and visual guidance for photography, videography, content production and campaign shoots where required.
Collaborate closely with Brand Managers and Brand Executives to understand project objectives, marketing requirements, timelines and deliverables.
Brief, coordinate and review external designers, illustrators, photographers, production partners and other creative vendors where required.
Prepare and oversee final artwork and production-ready files, ensuring accuracy, proper organisation and handover of creative assets.
Support the Creative Director in maintaining and improving the Company’s overall creative standards, processes and output as the portfolio and creative team grow.
Undertake other creative, design and related responsibilities reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications
Minimum 4–5 years of professional experience in graphic design, branding or art direction, preferably within a creative/branding agency or design-led environment.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality branding, visual identities, campaigns and digital/social design work.
Must be a hands-on designer comfortable personally conceptualising and executing design work, not solely providing creative direction.
Strong understanding of typography, layout, colour, composition and visual systems, with a high level of attention to detail and craft.
Experience developing brand identities from concept through execution, including visual territories, logos, typography, colour systems, brand guidelines and applications.
Experience providing art direction for photography, videography, campaigns and content shoots.
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign); proficiency in Figma is an advantage.
Experience working across F&B, hospitality, lifestyle or consumer brands is strongly preferred.
Able to manage multiple brands and projects simultaneously, work independently and deliver consistently within deadlines.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate and defend creative decisions.
Strong awareness of contemporary design, culture and social media, with a good eye for what feels current and relevant.
Degree or diploma in Design, Visual Communication, Advertising or a related field is preferred, but portfolio and relevant experience will be prioritised.
