General Summary
The Software Engineer II is responsible for developing high-quality, innovative, fully performing software in compliance with coding standards. This individual works in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure that software deliverables, including designs, codes, and tests, are completed in a timely manner while remaining aligned with industry and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Frontend Development
Build and maintain responsive web applications using React + JavaScript / TypeScript
Develop reusable and well-structured UI components
Implement front-end solutions using:
State management (Redux Toolkit, Zu stand, React Query)
API integrations (REST / GraphQL)
Modern frontend development practices
Collaborate with senior engineers to design scalable frontend solutions
Component Library & Design System
Contribute to shared UI component libraries and design systems
Ensure:
Consistency with design standards
Accessibility best practices
Responsive user experiences
Work closely with designers using tools such as Figma and Storybook
Help improve component documentation and adoption
Code Quality & Engineering Practices
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Follow established:
Coding standards
Linting and formatting guidelines
Reusability and maintainability principles
Participate actively in code reviews
Continuously improve code quality through feedback and learning
Performance & Optimization
Identify and address front-end performance issues
Optimize:
Page load times
Rendering efficiency
Bundle sizes through code splitting and lazy loading
Use browser and application performance tools to troubleshoot bottlenecks
Developer Productivity
Contribute to improvements in:
Development workflows
Local development environments
Build tooling
Support CI/CD practices and deployment processes
Help improve overall developer experience within the team
Testing & Reliability
Write and maintain:
Unit tests (Jest, Vitest)
Integration and E2E tests (Playwright, Cypress)
Ensure reliable feature delivery with minimal regressions
Participate in root-cause analysis and issue resolution
Collaboration & Feature Delivery
Work closely with:
Product managers
UX designers
Backend engineers
QA engineers
Break down assigned work into deliverable tasks
Own implementation of features from development through deployment
Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively
Learning & Growth
Stay current with frontend technologies and best practices
Learn emerging frameworks, libraries, and engineering patterns
Take ownership of feature areas and gradually expand technical responsibilities
Seek mentorship and contribute knowledge back to the team
Required Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in frontend or full-stack development
Strong proficiency in:
React
JavaScript / TypeScript
Modern JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience with:
REST or GraphQL APIs
State management libraries
Component-based application development
Good understanding of:
HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design
Browser fundamentals and web performance concepts
Frontend debugging and troubleshooting techniques
Experience using Git-based development workflows
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
React ecosystems and frontend frameworks
Component libraries and design systems
Storybook
Testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, or Vitest
Familiarity with:
Monorepos (Nx, Turborepo, Lerna)
Micro-frontend concepts
CI/CD practices
Exposure to cloud-hosted applications and modern deployment pipelines
