Electronics Design Engineer – Schematics & PCB

We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer – Schematics & PCB to work across schematic creation, PCB design, reverse engineering, testing, documentation, and product support.
This is a hands-on, broad electronics role, not a PCB-layout-only position. The person should be comfortable working across different stages of electronic product development, learning unfamiliar systems, and taking ownership of practical engineering tasks as required.
Formal qualifications are useful but not mandatory. We care more about practical ability, proof of work, sound electronics fundamentals, and willingness to take responsibility across the breadth of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create and update electronic schematics and printed circuit board layouts.
· Convert paper, PDF, or existing circuit information into clean, editable design files.
· Reverse engineer electronic boards and circuits when required to understand, document, modify, or reproduce designs.
· Create and maintain component libraries, footprints, bills of materials, and manufacturing files.
· Select suitable electronic components and suggest replacements when required.
· Support prototype assembly, testing, debugging, design changes, and board revisions.
· Work with production, troubleshooting, software, and other engineering teams to resolve product-related issues.
· Maintain clear design files, revision history, and project documentation.
· Take ownership of a reasonable range of electronics design, documentation, testing, and product-support tasks rather than working only on PCB layout.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Good practical understanding of analog and digital electronics.
· Ability to read, understand, create, and modify electronic schematics.
· Practical experience with PCB design software such as KiCad, Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar tools.
· Ability to design and modify PCB layouts and prepare files required for manufacturing.
· Ability to read component datasheets and select suitable components.
· Basic ability to test and troubleshoot electronic circuits using common lab equipment.
· Willingness to learn unfamiliar products, investigate problems, and take ownership of assigned work.
· A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field is a plus, but not required. Practical ability, relevant project experience, and proof of work will be given greater importance than formal qualifications.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with industrial electronics, automation, instrumentation, or embedded systems.
· Experience with reverse engineering or recreating electronic circuits and schematics.
· Experience with power electronics or industrial control circuits.
· Experience using Git, GitHub, or another version-control system.
· Familiarity with electronic product testing, manufacturing, and basic electromagnetic interference and electrical-safety considerations.
