Position: Technical Project Manager – SolarWinds Implementation

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong hands-on expertise in SolarWinds implementation and infrastructure monitoring.
The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end SolarWinds implementation, migration, upgrade and integration projects while providing technical leadership to the engineering team. The role requires a combination of SolarWinds technical expertise, project management, customer/stakeholder management and infrastructure monitoring knowledge.
The ideal candidate should be able to understand SolarWinds architecture and implementation at a technical level while managing project scope, timelines, resources, risks, vendors and customer expectations.
1. SolarWinds Technical Implementation
Lead end-to-end SolarWinds implementation and deployment projects.
Design, configure and implement SolarWinds monitoring solutions based on customer requirements.
Install and configure SolarWinds Orion Platform and relevant modules.
Configure and manage:
SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Server & Application Monitor (SAM)
Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA)
User Device Tracker (UDT)
Virtualization Manager (VMAN) – where applicable
Configure nodes, interfaces, applications, devices, polling engines and monitoring templates.
Configure alerts, thresholds, dashboards, reports and performance monitoring.
Develop customized dashboards and monitoring views based on customer requirements.
Configure SNMP, WMI, ICMP, Syslog and SNMP traps.
Troubleshoot SolarWinds monitoring, polling and alerting issues.
Perform SolarWinds upgrades, migrations and configuration changes.
Support integration with ITSM/ticketing platforms and other monitoring tools.
Review and optimize SolarWinds performance and database health.
2. Project Management
Manage the complete project lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, UAT and handover.
Define project scope, objectives, milestones and deliverables.
Prepare project plans, schedules, resource requirements and implementation timelines.
Track project progress against agreed timelines and deliverables.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change requests.
Conduct project review meetings and technical discussions.
Coordinate technical teams, customers, vendors and third-party stakeholders.
Ensure timely resolution of technical and project-related escalations.
Prepare weekly/monthly project status reports and management dashboards.
Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timeline and quality standards.
3. Customer & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary technical/project point of contact for customers.
Understand customer monitoring and infrastructure requirements.
Conduct requirement-gathering and solution-design discussions.
Present technical solutions, implementation plans and project status to customers.
Manage expectations and communicate project risks and dependencies.
Coordinate customer UAT, acceptance and project sign-off.
Handle escalations and ensure appropriate technical resolution.
4. Infrastructure Monitoring Expertise
Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring across:
Network devices – routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
Windows and Linux servers
Virtualization environments
Applications and databases
Network performance and availability
Bandwidth and traffic monitoring
CPU, memory, storage and capacity monitoring
Availability and SLA monitoring
Event and log monitoring
Performance trends and capacity planning
5. SolarWinds Automation & Integration
Knowledge of SolarWinds APIs / REST APIs.
PowerShell or scripting knowledge for automation.
SQL knowledge for SolarWinds database reporting and troubleshooting.
Integration with ServiceNow or other ITSM/ticketing platforms.
Automate monitoring, reporting and operational tasks where applicable.
6. Documentation & Handover
Prepare and review:

Implementation Plans
Migration Plans
Test Plans
UAT Documentation
SOPs / Runbooks
As-Built Documentation
Operational Handover Documents
Ensure complete knowledge transfer to the operations/support team.

PMP / PRINCE2 / ITIL certification is an advantage.
Relevant SolarWinds certifications/training are an advantage.
