About The Role
We are seeking a Hosting IT Security Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic team at Oberpfaffenhofen. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security standards, and supporting the continuous development of our network and server environments. Your expertise will contribute to the protection of critical satellite navigation systems and related IT services. The position involves collaboration across departments, documentation of systems, and implementation of security measures aligned with organizational policies. Initially offered as a two-year contract, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to national and international aerospace security initiatives while advancing your career in IT security.
Qualifications
Completed university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus on Networking or IT Security.
Minimum of three years of professional experience in IT security roles.
Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms such as Proxmox and VMware.
Hands-on experience in configuring and maintaining network components including switches, firewalls, and routers.
Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
Practical understanding of network security technologies and common cyber threats.
Familiarity with national legal requirements and international standards in information security.
Relevant certifications in IT security (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+).
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues.
Strong communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken.
Ability to adapt swiftly to new projects, technologies, and evolving security landscapes.
High level of discretion, reliability, and integrity.
Team-oriented mindset with the capacity for independent work and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Support cross-departmental coordination and collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients to ensure security objectives are met.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the system landscape and network infrastructure.
Administer and optimize Windows and Linux server environments to ensure stability and security.
Plan, design, and implement system requirements for system expansion and upgrades.
Ensure adherence to IT security policies and standards across all network and server components.
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events and logs to detect and mitigate threats.
Prepare reports, document incidents, and escalate security issues promptly to the Hosting Security Manager within the risk register framework.
Continuously improve and refine network security measures, aligning with organizational policies and emerging threats.
Develop and enhance IT security concepts and services to support medium- and long-term cybersecurity strategies.
