To support our focus on strategic growth, Reese Hackman has an immediate opening for a motivated, Senior Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer.

Position Summary
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact by designing innovative electrical and lighting systems in a dynamic and collaborative environment? As a Senior Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer at Reese Hackman, you will combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills to design innovative electrical and lighting systems that enhance the built environment. You will play a key role in shaping design direction, mentoring emerging engineers, and ensuring technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead electrical and lighting design projects from concept through construction.
Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and life‑safety systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
Provide technical leadership and quality oversight across project teams.
Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to support integrated design solutions.
Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts.
Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical and professional growth.
Evaluate existing buildings and develop creative, energy‑efficient renovation solutions.
Ensure code compliance and design excellence, including NEC, IES, NFPA, and energy codes.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience designing electrical and lighting systems for commercial and institutional projects
Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited)
Experience managing projects and leading design teams
Strong technical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Revit
PE licensure
