Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid WordPress Developer role based in Bengaluru, with flexibility for some work from home. The WordPress Developer will build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, including creating themes, configuring plugins, and optimizing site performance.
Day-to-day tasks include implementing front-end layouts, ensuring responsive and accessible design, managing back-end functionality, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role also involves collaborating with designers and content teams, managing updates and security patches, and improving user experience based on feedback and analytics.
The developer is expected to document work clearly, follow best practices, and contribute ideas to enhance the company’s web presence and client projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Front-End Development and Responsive Web Design to create accessible, mobile-friendly interfaces.
Candidates should possess skills in Back-End Web Development and Web Development to manage site functionality, performance, and integrations.
Candidates should possess skills in Web Design to translate requirements into clean, intuitive layouts and user experiences.
Proficiency with WordPress core, themes, and plugins, including custom theme development and child themes.
Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with PHP for WordPress customization.
Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and basic understanding of SEO best practices and website security.
Ability to work independently, manage part-time hours effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.
Relevant coursework or a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience building WordPress sites is strongly preferred.
