Senior Data Platform Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and enterprise data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Data Vault 2.0 modeling, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Cosmos DB, and modern cloud-based data architectures. You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, optimizing data storage solutions, and enabling advanced analytics across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable data warehouse and data lake solutions using Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
Develop and maintain end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines within Microsoft Fabric.
Architect and manage high-performance NoSQL database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB.
Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes leveraging Fabric Data Factory, Spark, SQL, and Python.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and architects to define data requirements and data models.
Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across enterprise data platforms.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
Support real-time and batch processing workloads for analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices for data engineering projects.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to data architecture best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing.
Strong hands-on experience with Data Vault 2.0 data modeling techniques.
Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Notebooks.
Solid expertise in Azure Cosmos DB design, development, and performance tuning.
Advanced SQL programming and query optimization skills.
Strong programming experience in Python and data processing frameworks.
Experience with Azure Data Services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of data governance, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, and distributed data processing.
Exposure to real-time streaming technologies and event-driven architectures.
Knowledge of Azure AI, Machine Learning, or Analytics solutions.
Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
