Cryptography Implementation Engineer (Entry Level) — C/Python + Embedded
QNu Labs · Bangalore · In person · 0–2 years
Before you apply
In-person role in Bangalore. We only review applications that include a link to code you have written yourself — ideally a cryptographic primitive or protocol you implemented from a specification. No code link, no review. Course certificates and general full-stack portfolios are not a fit, and this is not a SOC, VAPT or security-analyst role.
About QNu Labs
QNu Labs is India's first and only quantum security technology company, building quantum-safe solutions that protect mission-critical data. Headquartered in Bangalore, we are backed by the National Quantum Mission under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Our patent-backed products — Armos, Tropos, QHSM and the QShield™ platform built on NIST-compliant post-quantum cryptography — are TEC-certified and deployed across the Indian Army, Navy, the public sector and global enterprises.
The role
You will write the code that sits between a cryptographic scheme on paper and a product deployed in the field — implementing it, measuring it, and making it run on real hardware. The role sits in our Center of Excellence for Advanced Crypto Secure Systems, whose work feeds directly into QNu's product line across defence, telecom, embedded and enterprise.
What you'll do
Implement cryptographic primitives and protocols in C and Python, with tests and documentation
Get that code running on embedded targets — microcontrollers, boards, constrained environments
Benchmark speed, memory and power, and report numbers others can reproduce
Harden implementations against side-channel and implementation attacks
Turn standards and papers into working code and short, clear notes
Essential
At least one non-trivial program you have written in C or Python, beyond coursework, that you can show us
A working grasp of cryptography — symmetric and asymmetric primitives, key exchange, signatures, hashes — and what each actually protects
Data structures and algorithms, with the ability to reason about complexity and memory
Systems fundamentals: operating systems, computer architecture, networking
Willingness to work close to hardware and pick up embedded development on the job
Bonus
Embedded systems and OS internals, ARM, device drivers, peripherals (UART, SPI, I2C)
Post-quantum cryptography: lattice-based schemes, NIST standards, hybrid and migration approaches
Side-channel analysis; secure boot, TPM, HSM or secure elements
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, mathematics, electronics, electrical engineering or a related field. Thesis work, internships and serious independent projects count as much as employment history.
You don't need to arrive with both the cryptography and the embedded systems. You need to be a strong coder who understands cryptography and wants to build the rest here.
How to apply
Send your CV with a link to your code and two or three sentences on one cryptographic primitive or protocol you implemented yourself, and what was hardest about getting it right.
