Cloud Engineer

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain automation and operational tooling to support reliable day-to-day platform operations
• Develop scripts for recurring operational tasks and Confluent CLI operations
• Manage Kafka topic and sink connector configurations
• Validate, maintain, and extend GitLab CI/CD helper jobs and support scripts
• Develop and maintain operational runbooks and diagnostic scripts to support incident response
• Support the configuration of transformation applications based on Python and AWS ECS Fargate
• Support API configuration for AWS Lambda and Terraform-based solutions
• Provide support for AWS infrastructure and secret management
• Work closely with Development and Operations teams to translate operational needs into reusable automation and tooling
• Contribute to the reliable operation of a platform based on Terraspace, Confluent Cloud, AWS, Kubernetes, and Snowflake
Requirements:
• Mid-level DevOps experience, preferably in platform engineering or data engineering environments
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch
• Programming and scripting skills with Python and/or Bash/Zsh
• Experience developing automation scripts involving file I/O, REST API calls, CLI tools, and data transformation
• Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar
• Good knowledge of Git workflows, pipelines, conventional commits, and merge requests
• Understanding of Kafka or event streaming concepts, including topics, consumers, and producers
• Experience supporting operational tooling, automation, and configuration activities
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Confluent Cloud and/or Confluent CLI
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, SQL, JSON, and XML
• Experience configuring AWS Lambda and/or AWS ECS or other container orchestration platforms
• Background in a platform team or operational support role
• AWS certifications
