Role Description The Professor and Head of the Department – Psychology is a full-time, on-site role located at CMR University in Bengaluru. The role involves providing academic leadership to the Psychology department, including planning and overseeing curriculum development, ensuring high-quality teaching, and promoting best pedagogical practices. The individual will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise student projects and theses, and mentor faculty members within the department. Daily responsibilities include coordinating departmental activities, fostering a culture of research and publication, and driving collaborations with other departments and external partners. The role also requires participation in academic governance, student engagement initiatives, and continuous improvement of programs in alignment with university goals and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Strong academic background in Psychology, with demonstrated expertise in relevant subfields.
Proficiency in Curriculum Development and academic program design for undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Extensive experience in University Teaching and Teaching, with a record of effective classroom instruction and student mentoring.
Proven Research skills, including peer-reviewed publications, research supervision, and participation in funded projects.
Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Psychology or closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
Prior experience in academic leadership or departmental administration, preferably as Head of Department or equivalent role.
Ability to collaborate across disciplines, manage teams, and contribute to institutional development initiatives.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; commitment to inclusive and learner-centered education.
Familiarity with contemporary assessment methods, accreditation requirements, and quality assurance processes.
