Role Description The Law Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Akola. The Law Officer will handle legal matters related to the company’s lending and recovery operations, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, notices, agreements, and contracts. Responsibilities include coordinating with external counsel, managing litigation files, attending court proceedings, and ensuring timely follow-up on legal cases. The role involves providing legal opinions to internal teams, supporting resolution of customer disputes, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Law Officer will also contribute to risk mitigation by identifying legal issues in transactions and advising business teams on appropriate legal safeguards.
Qualifications
Strong grounding in Law, including knowledge of banking, finance, and corporate laws relevant to NBFC operations.
Experience with Courts and Litigation, including drafting pleadings, coordinating case management, and attending hearings.
Proficiency in Legal Writing, including drafting agreements, notices, and legal opinions with clarity and accuracy.
Project Management skills to organize legal workflows, prioritize multiple matters, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); LL.M or specialized certification in banking or corporate law is an advantage.
Ability to interpret statutes, regulations, and judicial precedents and apply them to practical business scenarios.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with business and operations teams.
Prior experience in an NBFC, bank, or financial services organization is preferred.
