We're Hiring | Senior Software Engineer – C++ | Industrial Automation
📍 Location: Pune (Bavdhan), Maharashtra
🏢 Company: HMS Industrial Networks India Pvt. Ltd.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5 to 12 years of experience to join our Industrial Automation team. If you have a strong background in Modern C++, Linux, and Industrial Communication Protocols, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop industrial communication protocol stacks using Modern C++ (C++14/17/20).
Develop edge gateway components to communicate with PLCs, RTUs, sensors, and industrial devices.
Own end-to-end development of protocol features, including design, implementation, debugging, and optimization.
Implement device connectivity, data acquisition, parsing, and data normalization.
Develop multi-threaded, asynchronous, and event-driven applications.
Optimize software for performance, reliability, and memory efficiency.
Work with industrial communication technologies.
Troubleshoot complex protocol and device communication issues.
Integrate protocol modules with local services, data pipelines, and cloud connectors.
Collaborate with Architects, QA, Product Management, and Cloud Engineering teams.
Mandatory Skills
5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in Modern C++ (C++14/17/20)
Strong experience with Linux / Embedded Linux development (Mandatory)
Experience developing Industrial Automation / Industrial Communication Protocols
Strong understanding of Networking
Expertise in Multi-threading, Concurrency, Synchronization, and IPC
Strong debugging skills
Experience with CMake, Make, and Cross Compilation
Good understanding of software design principles and design patterns
Good to Have
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
Fieldbus & Industrial Ethernet
Modbus (RTU / TCP)
PROFINET / PROFIBUS
EtherNet/IP (CIP)
EtherCAT
SCADA & Device Protocols
OPC UA (Client/Server, Pub Sub)
