About the role
We build payment and transaction infrastructure. Right now we're delivering a regulated cross-border digital asset platform — remittance API integrations, transaction processing, financial workflows and the operational tooling around them — with more payment products on the roadmap.
You'll own modules end-to-end rather than picking up tickets, sit close to the architecture decisions, and learn payment systems properly on a live regulated platform rather than reading about them.
What you'll work on
Backend services for payment, transaction, remittance and payout flows
Integrations with banks, payment providers, wallets and KYC/KYB providers
Transaction state management — initiation through processing, failure, reversal and settlement
Webhooks, retries, idempotency, duplicate prevention, timeouts, and transactions whose final status you don't yet know
Reconciliation against provider, bank and internal records
PostgreSQL schema design for transactions, balances, ledgers, beneficiaries, settlements and audit trails — and keeping it consistent under failure and concurrency
Admin panels and operations dashboards (React / Next.js)
Debugging production issues where getting it wrong costs money
What we're looking for
Around 2–5 years of backend engineering, though we care far more about the systems you've worked on than the years on your CV.
You should have hands-on experience in at least one real transaction-processing domain: payment gateways or aggregators, payout infrastructure, wallets or ledgers, remittance and cross-border payments, banking APIs, lending disbursal, neobanking, trading or exchange platforms, crypto or stablecoin payments, account aggregation, or NBFC transaction systems.
Stack: Node.js, Express, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, React / Next.js. Production PostgreSQL matters most — we want engineers who can explain how they modelled transactions, balances and ledger entries, not just list it as a skill. Basic cloud familiarity is enough; we have an ops team for infrastructure.
Coming from another backend stack? If your main experience is Java/Spring Boot, .NET or Python but your payment systems experience is strong, please apply. We'd rather teach Node.js than teach payments.
What we mean by payment experience
A Stripe or Razorpay checkout integration on its own isn't it. We're looking for people who've dealt with the states between initiated and settled, preventing duplicate payouts and wallet credits, idempotency across requests and webhooks, safe retries, provider timeouts, resolving unknown-status transactions, reconciling against bank reports, double-entry ledgers, refunds and reversals, settlement workflows, and production incidents involving real money.
Fewer years, more depth
Don't hold back because you have two or three years. Two years of genuine wallet, payout, ledger or reconciliation work is worth more to us than five of generic development. Owning modules, contributing to architecture and reviewing code matter here; a formal lead title does not.
Location: Ahmedabad, on-site, full-time. Candidates outside Ahmedabad are welcome to apply if you're open to relocating.
