Fashion Assistant / Studio & Production Assistant
We are looking for a proactive, organised and hands-on Fashion Assistant to work closely with our workshop team and oversee the day-to-day groundwork of our fashion house.
This is a highly practical role for someone who enjoys being on the workshop floor, understands garment production and can efficiently coordinate between design, embroidery, sampling, production, staff and shoots.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the overall day-to-day functioning of the fashion workshop and studio.
* Coordinate and follow up on garment production from sampling to final finishing.
* Supervise and coordinate with tailors, karigars, embroiderers and other workshop staff.
* Handle embroidery development, sampling and execution, ensuring designs are followed accurately.
* Coordinate fabric, trims, accessories and other materials required for production.
* Maintain regular follow-ups on ongoing garments and ensure timelines are met.
* Assist with fittings, alterations, finishing and quality checks.
* Keep track of samples, production pieces, pending work and deliveries.
* Coordinate with different teams to ensure smooth movement of work from design → sampling → embroidery → stitching → finishing → final garment.
* Assist in planning and managing fashion shoots, including garments, accessories, styling requirements, steaming, packing and shoot-day coordination.
* Help organise and maintain the workshop, samples, fabrics, trims and garments.
* Manage and coordinate workshop staff and ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently.
* Handle day-to-day problem solving and ensure issues on the workshop floor are resolved quickly.
* Assist the designer with general creative and operational requirements as needed.
What We’re Looking For
* Prior experience in fashion, garment production, boutique operations or a fashion workshop is preferred.
* Strong understanding of Indian wear, garment construction, embroidery and sampling.
* Someone who is comfortable working hands-on in a workshop environment.
* Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
* Ability to coordinate and manage multiple people and tasks simultaneously.
* Good eye for detail, finishing and quality.
* Proactive, responsible and capable of taking ownership of tasks.
* Good communication and coordination skills.
* Someone who can work independently and is willing to get involved in the groundwork rather than only handling desk-based responsibilities.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be closely involved in the complete process of building garments—from the first sample to the final piece and its shoot.
