Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Laboratory Technician role based in Sangamner. The Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests, prepare and process human and veterinary samples, and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining instruments, monitoring quality control parameters, documenting test results accurately, and ensuring proper storage and disposal of specimens and reagents. The role involves assisting in calibration and maintenance schedules, supporting troubleshooting of test issues, and adhering to biosafety and infection control guidelines. The technician will collaborate with medical and veterinary professionals, communicate any critical findings promptly, and contribute to a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including sample preparation, test execution, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Candidates should possess experience handling laboratory equipment, including operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
Candidates should possess well-developed analytical skills to interpret test results, identify anomalies, and support accurate reporting.
Candidates should possess knowledge of quality control practices, including running controls, documenting results, and following regulatory and safety standards.
Candidates should possess familiarity with the responsibilities and workflow of laboratory technicians in diagnostic or veterinary settings.
Relevant diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Veterinary Laboratory Technology, or a related scientific field.
Understanding of biosafety, infection control, and safe handling of biological samples and chemicals.
Attention to detail, reliable record-keeping skills, and the ability to follow instructions and protocols consistently.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical, veterinary, and administrative staff.
Prior experience in a diagnostic or veterinary laboratory is an advantage.
