Test Engineer (Automation + AI-Assisted Development) — Remote, Singapore
You'll own test automation for our clients projects — extending and maintaining the suite, closing coverage gaps, and making sure the parts of the product that are hard to assert automatically don't quietly break.
We work with AI coding tools daily. Claude Code, Cursor, and similar are part of how this team ships, and we expect you to use them to move faster than a traditional QA engineer could. Writing forty Playwright specs in an afternoon is a reasonable expectation when the tooling is used well.
But that only works if you can read what the model produced and know whether it's right. A test that passes for the wrong reason is worse than no test — it's a false signal that costs us a production bug later. Judgment is the job. The tools just make it faster.
What you'll do
Extend Playwright E2E coverage across new and existing features
Write integration tests against real Postgres — we don't mock the database
Cover the hard paths: multi-tenant isolation, permission boundaries, the AI Recruiter funnel state transitions, screening form flows, email delivery and inbound polling
Test AI-dependent features sensibly — where output is non-deterministic, assert on structure and constraints rather than exact strings
Maintain and speed up the existing suite; a slow suite gets ignored
Build test data factories and fixtures so writing new tests stays cheap
Own CI test reliability — flaky tests get fixed, not retried
Do exploratory testing on new features before release, and file bugs with reproduction steps that actually reproduce
What we're looking for
Required
3+ years in test automation with production ownership of a suite
Strong TypeScript — you can read and write application code, not just test scripts
Hands-on Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
Experience testing against real databases and understanding test isolation
Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar) with a clear sense of where they help and where they mislead
You can review AI-generated code critically and explain why you rejected something
Good written English — you'll be filing bugs and writing docs
Fluent in Filipino
Must be available to work in Central European Time
Nice to have
Next.js App Router experience
Drizzle ORM, or comfort with SQL-first ORMs
Experience testing multi-tenant SaaS — tenant isolation bugs are the ones that hurt
Docker, CI pipeline configuration
Experience testing LLM-dependent features
API and load testing
