Role Description The Civil Engineer at Smilestone Homes will work full time on-site in Chennai, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of residential construction projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing structural and civil engineering designs, coordinating with architects and site teams, and ensuring that construction work aligns with drawings, codes, and safety standards. The role involves conducting site inspections, monitoring quality and progress, identifying and resolving technical issues, and supporting stormwater and drainage planning where applicable. The Civil Engineer will also assist in project scheduling, material estimation, and documentation, while communicating clearly with internal stakeholders and external vendors to keep projects on track and within budget.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Civil Engineering Design and general Civil Engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to residential projects.
Experience working as Civil Engineers on-site, including coordination with site supervisors, contractors, and other technical teams.
Proficiency in Planning activities such as project scheduling, resource allocation, and construction sequencing.
Knowledge of Stormwater Management and drainage design for residential layouts and building sites.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and local compliance requirements in Chennai or similar urban environments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; experience with CAD or civil design software is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
Prior experience in residential or real estate construction projects is preferred.
