Senior QC chemist

Company Description Notional Specialities Products Co., an affiliate of Notional Chemical Dyes Co. in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is a long-established manufacturer and exporter of high-quality paint driers, ink driers, wood preservative chemicals, and cobalt for UPR.
Role Description The Senior QC Chemist is a full-time, on-site role based at the Vapi INA facility. This position is responsible for leading and executing daily quality control activities, including sampling, testing, and validating raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products against established specifications and industry standards. The role involves developing, reviewing, and updating QC procedures, maintaining accurate test records, and preparing analytical reports for internal stakeholders and external audits. The Senior QC Chemist will oversee laboratory operations, ensure proper calibration and maintenance of instruments, and promote strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines. This role also includes mentoring junior QC staff, collaborating with production and R&D teams to resolve quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in processes and product quality.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in analytical chemistry, including wet chemistry techniques and instrumental analysis using methods such as titration, chromatography, and spectrophotometry.
Candidates should possess skills in quality control and assurance, including method validation, specification setting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Candidates should possess experience in laboratory operations, including sample management, instrument calibration, documentation, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
Candidates should possess knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, especially related to paint driers, ink driers, wood preservatives, and cobalt-based products, along with familiarity with relevant industry regulations.
Candidates should possess strong communication, reporting, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and technical support teams.
Beneficial qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline, prior experience in industrial QC labs (preferably in specialty chemicals), and exposure to ISO or similar quality management systems.
