In This Role, You Will
Act as a key leader within the Retail Credit Risk Assurance team, ensuring that standards, policies and procedures remain fit for purpose and are subject to continuous assessment. Provide relevant subject-matter expertise and work with the immediate team to define appropriate review scopes and deliver assurance activities.
Inform Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards about the design and operational effectiveness of controls within their areas of oversight. Proactively monitor and identify emerging risks and trends, ensuring that the assurance programme evolves to address them.
Ensure that assurance reviews are accurate and consistently meet the required standards of quality and completeness, demonstrating the intended outcomes for HSBC and its regulators. Ensure timely and consistent reporting and escalation of issues identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance activities.
Operate within the RMF, aligning with risk-assessment methodology and the prioritization of risks, controls and issues. Work closely with Group Internal Audit (GIA) to understand the outcomes of its reviews and the implications for the control of the environment.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, adopting a cohesive approach to delivery and minimizing conflict. Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with key countries and regional stakeholders while preserving the independence of the assurance function.
Support senior-level consultation on issues and emerging trends identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance testing and reviews.
Contribute to consistent management information (MI) on issues identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance activities.
Provide subject-matter expertise that raises team standards.
Lead by example and promote appropriate behaviors.

A relevant external financial services qualification. A clear understanding of retail credit risk within the global financial services industry. Proven people-management capability and the ability to lead effectively.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
