Roles and Responsibilities:
Design and develop machines, products, and mechanical systems, liaising with clients to fully understand project needs and communicating with the design and plant teams to ensure accuracy and quality of design.
Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining/fabrication of components used to build the machine.
Work closely with clients to ensure quality design, identifying potential pitfalls and quality issues throughout the design and development process.
Inspect finished designs and drawings to ensure they meet required manufacturing standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3–6 years of experience in machine design or a related field.
2–5 years of hands-on experience in Solid Edge, with demonstrated expertise in 3D modelling and parametric design. Hands-on Solid Edge experience is essential for this role.
Experience in machine concept design, detailed design, managing large assemblies in Solid Edge, and safety guarding.
Ability to read complex drawings, understand design intent, and grasp the tasks involved in machine development.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Solid understanding of mechanics fundamentals and strength of materials.
Knowledge of mechanical standard components.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME codes.
Good documentation skills.
