Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Premium Auditor. The Premium Auditor will review financial records, payroll reports, and business operations to determine accurate insurance premium exposures. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting virtual and, when applicable, on-site audits, interviewing policyholders or their representatives, verifying classifications, and documenting findings in a clear and organized manner. The role involves preparing detailed audit reports, communicating results to carriers and clients, and following established audit standards and timelines. The Premium Auditor will also be expected to manage their schedule, maintain confidentiality, and use audit software and online tools to complete assignments efficiently.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial data, identify discrepancies, and draw accurate conclusions.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including clear written reporting and professional verbal interaction with clients and carrier representatives.
Candidates should possess knowledge of insurance principles, especially Workers Compensation and General Liability, and familiarity with audit procedures and regulations.
Candidates should possess foundational finance and accounting skills, including understanding of payroll, general ledgers, and business financial statements.
Relevant experience as a premium auditor, field auditor, or in a related insurance or accounting role is beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple audits, and meet deadlines is important.
Proficiency with office software, audit platforms, and secure document management tools is preferred.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is advantageous.
