Senior Bookkeeper — Remote (Venezuela)
Ceiba Accounting Firm is a bilingual (English/Spanish) accounting firm serving construction contractors, real estate developers, law firms, and healthcare businesses in South Florida. We're a remote-first team, and we're looking for a senior bookkeeper who can own a book of clients from start to finish — not someone who needs a reviewer behind every entry.
What you'll do
Own full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of client companies: AP, AR, payroll entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, and month-end close
Produce monthly financial statements and explain what's behind the numbers
Build and maintain cash flow forecasts and budget-vs-actual reporting in Excel
Clean up and restructure messy or backlogged books, including chart of accounts redesign
Communicate directly with clients in English and Spanish — status updates, document requests, and walking them through their financials
Flag issues early: margin swings, uncollected receivables, coding problems, anything that needs the owner's attention
What we're looking for
5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, with real ownership of the close process
Advanced QuickBooks Online skills — you know it well enough to diagnose and fix problems someone else created
Strong Excel: pivot tables, lookups, and building working models from scratch
Experience with forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow projections
Solid accounting fundamentals — accrual accounting, journal entries, and a real understanding of how the three statements connect
Fluent English and Spanish, written and spoken. You'll be client-facing in both.
Reliable internet, a quiet workspace, and availability that overlaps with U.S. Eastern business hours
Nice to have
Experience with U.S.-based clients and U.S. GAAP
Construction accounting exposure (job costing, WIP, progress billing)
Experience with a practice management platform such as TaxDome
Accounting degree or CPA-equivalent credential
