Talent Activation Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE
M13 runs a Talent Optimization model built around a three-pillar flywheel: Strategy & Design, Intelligence & Community, and Access & Engagement. Activation sits at the seam between Intelligence & Community and Access & Engagement, and it's where market and community insight turns into the events, content, campaigns, and data work that get our portfolio companies great hires.
In this newly created role, you'll effectively close the loop in the flywheel: you'll help build and run the activation layer - events, content, campaigns, data projects— and feed what you learn back into our talent intelligence and community strategy.
What You'll Do
- Support the planning and execution of talent-facing events (dinners, roundtables, webinars, community meetups) that build and deepen M13's network of executive and functional talent across the portfolio.
- Build and execute content and campaigns — newsletters, LinkedIn content, talent spotlights, portfolio job promotion — that keep the community engaged and drive top-of-funnel candidate interest.
- Run data projects that track engagement, campaign performance, and community growth, and translate those findings into insights that support Intelligence & Community work.
- Partner with Access & Engagement to turn activation learnings into the next set of events and campaigns the team should build — creating a continuous feedback cycle between Intelligence & Community and Access & Engagement.
- Support sourcing, screening, and warm introductions for select searches.
- Maintain the systems and trackers (LinkedIn, Findem, Getro) that support community and campaign work, and keep them clean and current.
- Report out on activation metrics (event attendance, campaign engagement, pipeline contribution) to the broader Talent team.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience in talent brand, recruitment marketing, community building, or event management - ideally from a VC firm, startup, or recruiting organization.
- Strong writing and communication skills; comfortable owning content end-to-end, from concept to publish.
- Comfort with data and analytics tools well enough to measure engagement and translate it into a clear story.
- High ownership and self-direction —we have a small team, and you'll need to run with ambiguity.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, Getro, Findem, or similar talent/community platforms is a plus, not a requirement.
