ESG Officer

Role Purpose
The Environmental and Social Manager will lead Ace's environmental and social programme and ensure compliance with applicable law, the IFC Performance Standards, investor requirements and the Environmental and Social Action Plan. The role will combine system implementation, site oversight, incident management, data assurance and reporting across the Company's operations and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental and social management
· Develop, implement and maintain a company-wide Environmental and Social Management System aligned with the IFC Performance Standards and Ace's investor commitments.
· Maintain the E&S legal register, permits, risk assessments, management plans, emergency procedures, stakeholder engagement process and grievance mechanisms.
· Integrate E&S screening and controls into projects, procurement, contractor management and material business decisions.
ESAP and operational compliance
· Own the Environmental and Social Action Plan, track actions and evidence, and escalate delays or material risks to senior management and the E&S Advisory Panel.
· Coordinate site inspections, monitoring and corrective actions covering environment, occupational health and safety, fire and electrical safety, chemicals, waste, effluent, groundwater, traffic and emergency response.
· Work with Operations and Engineering to improve resource efficiency, pollution prevention and workplace safety while maintaining regulatory and food-safety requirements.
Investor reporting and incident management
· Own the E&S and impact reporting calendar and prepare complete, accurate and evidence-backed submissions for investors, lenders, the Board and senior management within the timelines set out in the SHA.
· Coordinate quarterly and half-yearly E&S and impact reporting, annual ESG and monitoring returns, greenhouse-gas data and responses to investor information requests.
· Maintain reliable data and source records for health and safety, labour, grievances, water, energy, emissions, waste, community programmes, farmer reach and milk sourcing.
· Ensure material E&S incidents are escalated immediately, notified within contractual timelines, investigated and closed through verified corrective and preventive action.
Workforce supply chain and community
· Monitor labour and human-rights requirements for employees, contract workers and relevant supply-chain partners, including wages, working hours, POSH, grievances and workplace conditions.
· Support responsible milk sourcing, farmer engagement and animal-welfare practices, including supplier assessment and training where required.
· Oversee community engagement, external grievances, exclusion-list screening and E&S requirements for contractors and material suppliers.
Governance training and assurance
· Prepare E&S Advisory Panel updates, coordinate investor and lender reviews, manage internal and external audits and track findings to closure.
· Maintain an annual training plan and a structured evidence repository capable of supporting management certification, investor review and audit assurance.
Candidate profile
Experience and qualifications
· Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in environmental and social risk management, ESG, sustainability or EHS, with responsibility for implementation and reporting.
· Experience implementing or materially strengthening an ESMS in manufacturing, dairy, food processing, agri-business or another operational sector.
· Strong working knowledge of IFC Performance Standards 1 to 4 and their application to operating procedures, site controls and reporting.
· Experience preparing E&S reports for development finance institutions, institutional investors or lenders. Exposure to FMO, responsibility, IFC or similar institutions is preferred.
· Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, sustainability, occupational health and safety, social sciences or another relevant discipline.
· Good knowledge of Indian environmental, occupational safety and labour requirements. Familiarity with greenhouse-gas accounting and dairy or agricultural supply chains is preferred.
Core Capabilities
· Strong technical writing, data review and Excel skills, with the ability to produce concise and defensible management and investor submissions.
· Experience with site audits, incident investigation, corrective-action management, stakeholder engagement and grievance mechanisms.
· Sound judgement in identifying material risks and incidents that require immediate escalation.
· Ability to coordinate senior functional owners across Operations, Engineering, HR, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Legal and Milk Sourcing.
· Willingness to travel regularly to plants, projects, milk-sourcing locations and supplier sites.
Measures of success
· ESMS and ESAP requirements are implemented on time, with complete supporting evidence.
· Investor reports and information requests are accurate, consistent and submitted within agreed timelines.
· Material incidents are escalated promptly and corrective actions are verified to closure.
· Plant, workforce, contractor and supply-chain risks show measurable improvement through monitoring and management action.

Work arrangement
No
