About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

About Us
We are a global team of like-minded Med-Tech professionals focused on patient centric solutions in a collaborative environment leading to excellent outcomes. We have developed an advanced and unique heart failure therapy technology in the BrioVAD® Left Ventricular Assist System (LVAS). We are introducing the BrioVAD LVAS to Heart Failure clinicians for use with the large number of indicated and untreated patients who could benefit from chronic mechanical circulatory support. The initiation of our INNOVATE™ Trial in the US is only the beginning. We are building a team to develop advanced technology intended to further improve patient outcomes, increase therapy acceptance, and enabling chronic MCS therapy to be accessible to more patients across the globe.
The Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical and Market Development, the Senior/Principal Upstream Product Marketing Manager will own upstream product strategy for the BrioVAD® platform and future pipeline initiatives. This individual will define what we build and why by translating clinical, market, and customer insights into product requirements, business cases, and development priorities. Operating at the intersection of clinical, R&D, regulatory, and commercial strategy, this role will shape pipeline direction, influence product design decisions, and ensure our products are clinically meaningful, differentiated, and commercially viable. This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong strategic thinking, customer insight generation, and the ability to influence without direct authority in a fast-paced, pre-commercial environment.
What You’ll Do
Market & Clinical Insight Generation
Lead structured Voice of Customer (VOC) efforts across heart failure cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, VAD coordinators, and other key stakeholders to inform product strategy and development priorities
Identify unmet needs, workflow gaps, treatment barriers, and adoption challenges across the heart failure care continuum
Translate clinical and market insights into clear problem statements, product requirements, and development priorities
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, clinical practices, reimbursement dynamics, and evolving treatment guidelines
Lead primary market research efforts including focus groups, advisory boards, surveys, customer interviews, and KOL engagements to validate product concepts and identify unmet needs
Product Strategy & Definition
Define product requirements, target product profiles, and value propositions based on customer, clinical, and market insights
Develop and maintain product roadmaps that prioritize features, capabilities, and development timing based on market needs, customer feedback, and business objectives
Act as the marketing lead on cross-functional product development teams, representing the voice of the customer in product decisions
Ensure alignment across clinical value, technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and commercial opportunity to support product development decisions
Define and execute non-product strategies, including clinical evidence generation, digital health initiatives, service models, and patient support programs, to strengthen the broader product ecosystem and support adoption
Business Case & Strategic Decision Support
Develop robust business cases that quantify market opportunity, adoption dynamics, competitive positioning, reimbursement considerations, and financial impact
Present product concepts, market opportunities, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership to support prioritization and portfolio investment decisions
Support long-range pipeline planning and portfolio strategy by identifying new product, indication, and adjacent market opportunities
Monitor market feedback, product performance, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for future product enhancements, lifecycle management, and portfolio expansion
KOL & External Engagement
Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, researchers, and healthcare stakeholders to generate insights and inform product strategy
Partner with Clinical, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs teams to support advisory boards, investigator meetings, clinical evidence generation, and market development initiatives
Represent BrioHealth externally at conferences, customer meetings, and industry events to gather market insights and strengthen brand awareness
Serve as a credible clinical and market expert internally, helping cross-functional teams understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics
What You Bring
7+ years of experience in upstream marketing, product management, or strategic marketing within the medical device industry
Experience in cardiovascular, heart failure, implantable devices, or other Class III medical device environments strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience owning or significantly influencing product definition from concept through development
Strong experience with Voice of Customer (VOC), market segmentation, business case development, and product roadmap creation
Proven ability to translate clinical and market insights into product requirements and development decisions
Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams in a product development environment
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, pre-commercial environments and influence without direct authority
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, marketing, engineering, life sciences, or a related field preferred
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% based on business needs.
