Machining Team Manager

Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Machining Team Manager to join our team in Jamestown, NY. In this role, you will lead the daily activities of a production team, driving execution of the daily Production Plan across all three shifts while balancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will manage people directly — setting expectations, clarifying responsibilities, coaching performance, and administering timekeeping and attendance policies consistently and fairly.
Beyond day-to-day production ownership, you will serve as a group lead on cross-functional projects from start to finish, drive Corrective Action Responses (CARs) to closure, and identify and complete 5S, safety, and ergonomic improvement projects. Success in this role requires strong communication, sound judgment under pressure, and a genuine commitment to developing the people on your team. This position is 100% onsite.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Execute the daily Production Plan across all three shifts, deploying resources to maximize output and meet production targets.
Lead, coach, and develop a production team, building the capability and engagement that sustain performance over time.
Manage performance and behavior of direct reports through coaching and mentoring, applying the Progressive Discipline Policy when required.
Administer the timekeeping system for direct reports, ensuring work time is accurately recorded and attendance policies are applied uniformly.
Champion health and safety by identifying hazards, leading investigations, and completing 5S, safety, and ergonomic projects that build an injury-free culture.
Partner cross-functionally to develop and close Corrective Action Responses that eliminate recurring quality and process issues.
Lead projects and cross-functional groups from initiation through completion, delivering measurable improvements to safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Build productive manager-employee relationships that strengthen communication and ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
Oversee execution of the daily Production Plan across all three shifts, managing application resources to maximize results.
3+ years supervisory experience preferred.
Strong communication skills required. Strong ability to develop and coach staff.
Manage the timekeeping system for direct reports to ensure work time is correctly recorded and that attendance policies are applied uniformly and correctly.
Manage performance and behavior of direct reports through coaching, mentoring, and when needed, through use of the Progressive Discipline Policy.
Build productive manager-subordinate relationships with direct reports such that communications are effective along with effective application of policies and procedures.
Project work- ability to lead a projects and cross functional groups start to finish.
CARs- Ability to work well with cross functional teams to develop and close Corrective Action Responses
Responsible to identify, lead and complete 5S, Safety and Ergonomic projects

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Proven ability to supervise a production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, holding accountability for safety, quality, and daily output.
Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging across shifts, functions, and levels of the organization.
Demonstrated capability to develop and coach staff, including managing difficult performance conversations with fairness and consistency.
Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives from start to finish.
Sound decision-making under production pressure, with the judgment to escalate appropriately and keep work moving.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university or equivalent degree required, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
