Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mohali district for a fresher lawyer/legal associate. The role involves assisting in case preparation, including legal research, drafting petitions, applications, affidavits, and other court documents, and reviewing case files for accuracy and completeness. The legal associate will attend court hearings, support senior advocates during proceedings, take detailed notes, and help in organizing evidence and witness documentation. Day-to-day tasks also include interacting with clients under supervision, gathering relevant information, preparing summaries of legal issues, and maintaining case records and schedules. The role provides structured learning and practical exposure to trial work, procedural law, and professional courtroom conduct.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law, with knowledge of civil and criminal procedures, and relevant statutes and case law.
Ability to handle Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, contracts, notices, and written submissions.
Skills in identifying and analyzing Legal Issues, with the capacity to conduct thorough legal research and apply precedents.
Basic understanding of Contract Negotiation and the ability to support the review and discussion of contractual terms under guidance.
Capacity to assist in providing Legal Advice under supervision, including preparing opinions and case summaries.
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the relevant Bar Council or eligibility to enroll.
Strong written and oral communication skills in English and local languages, with attention to detail and clarity.
Ability to work diligently in a fast-paced court environment, demonstrate professional ethics, and maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and collaborate effectively with senior advocates and court staff.
