Denori Designs is a hospitality interior design and procurement firm specializing in short-term rentals and boutique hotels.
We’re growing our freelance design roster and looking for an experienced hospitality interior designer who understands that great design for a rental property has to do more than look beautiful. It needs to photograph well, function for real guests, withstand high turnover, work within budget, and ultimately support the performance of the property.
This is a freelance/contract role supporting active Denori projects on an as-needed basis.
What You’ll Do
• Create design boards, space plans, floor plans, install guides, and client-facing design presentations
• Source FF&E that aligns with the design vision, project budget, durability requirements, and installation timeline
• Design spaces that balance guest experience, visual impact, functionality, durability, and ROI
• Collaborate with our procurement and project management team to move projects from concept through installation
• Incorporate client feedback and complete design revisions efficiently
• Identify thoughtful, cost-effective alternatives when products are unavailable, over budget, or not appropriate for hospitality use
• Manage multiple design deliverables while consistently meeting project deadlines
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience designing short-term rentals, vacation rentals, boutique hotels, or other hospitality environments
• Strong eye for elevated, memorable interiors that feel distinctive without sacrificing functionality
• Experience designing within defined FF&E budgets
• Strong sourcing skills across retail, trade, and hospitality vendors
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a remote team
• Excellent communication and responsiveness, including proactive project updates
• Ability to work quickly and meet tight deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
Tools & Technology
Experience with the following is strongly preferred:
• Matterport, including navigating 3D scans and using them for space planning and measurements
• DesignFiles or comparable interior design presentation software
• Canva
• Spoak or similar space-planning and rendering tools
• Asana, ClickUp, or similar project management platforms
Bonus Experience
• FF&E specification for hospitality or high-turnover rental environments
• Understanding of durability, cleanability, replacement costs, and guest-proofing
• Familiarity with short-term rental performance and how design decisions can influence photography, bookings, guest experience, and reviews
• Experience designing exterior spaces for short-term rentals, including large-scale and complex amenity areas such as pools, hot tubs, saunas, cold plunges, outdoor kitchens, fire features, game areas, sport courts, and other guest-focused outdoor experiences
• Experience working with trade-only or overseas vendors
• Experience taking projects from initial concept through procurement and installation
• Portfolio examples showing concept-to-installed or before-and-after transformations
