Job Purpose
To manage and control end-to-end Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) processes, including budgeting, project cost monitoring, asset capitalization, fixed asset accounting, and financial compliance. The role ensures accurate tracking of capital investments, timely capitalization of completed projects, and adherence to accounting standards and organizational policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesCAPEX Planning & Budgeting
Support annual CAPEX budgeting and long-term investment planning.
Monitor budget utilization and control project expenditure.
Review CAPEX proposals and validate financial justifications.
Prepare budget variance analyses and cost reports for management review.
Capital Project Accounting
Monitor and track project-wise capital expenditure.
Ensure proper accounting of project-related costs in accordance with company policies.
Coordinate with engineering, project, procurement, and operational teams for project cost tracking.
Review project closures and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.
Asset Capitalization & Fixed Asset Management
Ensure timely capitalization of completed projects and assets.
Create and maintain fixed asset records in ERP/SAP systems.
Verify asset classification, useful life, and depreciation parameters.
Conduct periodic asset verification and reconciliation with fixed asset registers.
Facilitate asset transfers, retirements, and disposals in line with company procedures.
Financial Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
Monitor adherence to approved CAPEX budgets and authorization limits.
Support internal and external audits related to capital projects and fixed assets.
Implement and strengthen financial controls over capital expenditure processes.
Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly CAPEX reports, project status reports, and MIS dashboards.
Analyze project cost variances and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Provide management with insights on capital investments and project performance.
Support cash flow planning for capital projects.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with project teams, procurement, operations, stores, and finance departments.
Liaise with auditors and statutory authorities during audits and asset verification activities.
Support management in evaluating investment proposals and project feasibility.
