Role Overview: As a Surgical Assistant (SA), you will work under the supervision of the operating surgeon, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. Your expertise will directly support surgeons and contribute to positive patient outcomes, making you an essential part of our surgical team.

What You Will Do:
Assist the surgeon in performing safe operative procedures by anticipating their needs and providing appropriate instrumentation.
Maintain knowledge of normal/abnormal anatomy and anticipate potential complications during surgeries.
Ensure compliance with operating room procedures, including attire, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Perform scrub/turnover duties and other surgical team responsibilities when not functioning as the first assistant.
Collaborate with medical staff, residents, and vendors to maintain professional and collegial relationships.

What You Will Need:
Required Qualifications:
Perioperative experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Successful completion of a first assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
BLS certification, maintained per hospital policy.
Ability to obtain CSA certification within 1 year of hire if not already certified.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a CSA from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
