Role Summary
We're looking for a GA4 Analyst who can own our analytics stack end to end, from tagging and data
collection through reporting and recommendations. This is not a dashboard-maintenance role. You'll
be the person who makes sure the numbers are trustworthy, explains what they mean in plain
language, and tells the business where to spend the next dollar.
The right candidate is equally comfortable in Google Tag Manager debugging a broken event and in
a leadership meeting explaining why conversions dropped 12% last month.
What You'll Do
Implementation & data quality
● Own GA4 property configuration: data streams, event and conversion setup, custom
dimensions and metrics, audiences, and data retention settings.
● Build and maintain tagging through Google Tag Manager, including server-side GTM where
applicable.
● Maintain a measurement plan and tagging documentation so tracking survives site changes
and staff turnover.
● Audit tracking regularly. Find and fix data loss, duplicate events, bot traffic, cross-domain
breakage, and referral exclusions before anyone else notices.
● Manage consent mode, PII scrubbing, and compliance requirements (GDPR, CCPA).
Reporting & analysis
● Build Looker Studio dashboards that people actually use, and kill the ones they don't.
● Run attribution and conversion path analysis across paid, organic, email, and referral
channels.
● Use GA4 Explorations (funnel, path, cohort, segment overlap) to answer specific business
questions, not just to produce reports.
● Pipe GA4 data to BigQuery and write SQL against the raw export when the UI isn't enough.
● Deliver a monthly performance readout with findings and recommended actions, the "so
what," not just the "what." Partnership
● Work with marketing, sales, and product to translate business questions into measurable
events.
● Support A/B testing: design measurement, validate results, call winners honestly.
● Train non-analysts on reading reports so they stop asking you for screenshots. Required
Qualifications
● 3+ years of hands-on web analytics experience, with at least 2 years in GA4 specifically.
● Demonstrated ownership of a GA4 implementation from scratch or a UA-to-GA4 migration.
